Sports and leisurewear maker Nike is launching a new type of shoe designed to help athletes get into the right mindset pre- and post-competition.
There are two models , the Mind 001 and Mind 002.
They are described by the US giant as “neuroscience-based footwear” and the idea is that they boost focus by activating sensory receptors in the feet.
To do this the shoes feature 22 foam nodes on the soles of each one.
The nodes are bonded to a flexible, water-resistant material that allows them to act as pistons and gimbals as athletes move to give the feeling and texture of the ground directly beneath.
According to Nike, this interaction heightens sensory awareness, clearing away distractions and enhancing concentration.
They mark the debut of what is known as the Nike Mind platform.
This is the result of more than ten years of scientific, engineering and manufacturing technology research.
The Mind 001 mule offers easy-on, easy-off convenience and comfort, while the Mind 002 sneaker anchors the foot to the footbed for increased sensation and support.
Both the shoes will be available from January 2026 at Nike.com and select retail locations.

Los Angeles, CA, USA. June 17, 2025
Little House On The Prairie alum Alison Arngrim, 63, makes a very rare public appearance as she runs errands on a sunny afternoon in Los Angeles. The popular actress, who played resident mean girl Nellie Oleson on the popular Western drama series from 1974 to 1982, was spotted visiting an apartment complex in Westwood on the afternoon of June 18, 2025, where she stayed for over an hour. She showed off trendy blue finger nails and wore a blue top that had a white leaf pattern, blue jeans and red sneakers. In January Netflix announced a reboot of the iconic show, revealing it will be “part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West”. But a month later Alison confirmed that she and other OG cast members are unlikely to be involved. “None of us, as far as I know, our gang, are in at this point,” she revealed in an interview with ReMIND website.

Pictures must credit: Target/ÜNOS by Sz Sneakers for children designed to stretch as their feet grow have been created. They are called ÜNOS which stands for “U Need One Size.” The sole is divided by a Z shape, which allows the shoe to expand, in length and width, up to a half-size. This allows parents to get better value for money rather than having to buy a new pair each time to replace outgrown ones. They are currently being sold first in the US through Target chain stores. Wider pull tabs on the heel and tongue have been designed to make it easier for small fingers to grab? The shoes are also said to be machine washable. They are the work of US shoe designer Dr D’Wayne Edwards. He said he saw an opportunity to revolutionise how we think about shoe sizing. His inspiration for ÜNOS came from both practicality and innovation. It was a way to reduce the need for excessive inventory while giving consumers a sneaker that fits across multiple sizes.
