File image of the controversial Nord Stream 2 pipeline construction in Swedish Exclusive Economic Zone. Germany is halting the controversial Nord Stream 2 pipeline in light of Russia's incursion into Ukraine, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said on Tuesday Feb 22, 2022. The undersea pipeline, meant to ferry natural gas directly from Russia to northern Germany, is owned by a subsidiary of Russia's state-owned Gazprom. Berlin has previously been reluctant to impose sanctions that would affect Nord Stream 2. But at a press conference Tuesday, Scholz said that the situation today is fundamentally different and therefore, in light of recent events, we must also reassess this situation ... also with regard to Nord Stream 2. Shortly after, the economy ministry announced it was halting the certification process

Spangles the cross-eyed cat is purring with excitement for Christmas.
The adorable kitty not only has a very distinctive stare, but just loves donning cute outfits like these new Christmas costumes.
Proud owner Mary Buchanan, 27, a college student from Spartanburg, South Carolina, adopted him from a neighbour when he was five months old.
She explains: "He was born with one cross eye, but he's never had problems walking or anything. He's never run into things, or wobbled. He can see perfectly fine. He has been checked out by a vet, and no surgery is needed to correct his sight."
Mary soon found that her pet wasn't adverse to dressing up in quirky costumes - but only when he is in the right mood.
"Spangles loves his costumes. Christmas is his favourite time of year because they have so many cute costumes! If he doesn't want to pose he will just walk off.

A man who wanted an Aston Martin DB4 is near to owning one - after 3D printing it in his garage.
Ivan Sentch decided to build the iconic car - the precursor to James Bond's DB5 - after getting a GBP 500 3D printer for Christmas.
The married 32-year-old from Auckland, New Zealand, had previously built a kit car Ferrari 250 GTO, but needed a four-seater as he now has two children.
Ivan is using a Solidoodle 3D printer to print out individual components for the car, which he then pieces together to create a mold for the final fibreglass body.
The DB4 was sold by Aston Martin from 1958 until 1963 and its design and performance would later form the basis for future Aston Martin classics, including its replacement DB5, which would appear in James Bond films Goldfinger and Thunderball. Models sell for between GBP 220,000 and GBP 1,100,000.
Ivan expects the printing part of the project to cost him GBP 1,200, including the cost of the plastic and the printe

The Polar Bear's Plastic Pal
Everyone needs a friend and Augo the polar bear has found a pal in a plastic container.
The playful two-year-old is inseparable from the empty container which was given to him for stimulation at Aalborg Zoo in Denmark.
And visitors to the attraction have been wowed by the athletic games the bear has come up with.
Augo previously hit the headlines at six months old when he was pictured with a blue bucket on his head and then when he became attracted to a bright red ball.

Aston Martin sports car owned by Sir Paul McCartney to be auctioned, Cambridgeshire, Britain - 23 Aug 2011
In 1965 Paul McCartney asked his fans do you want to 'Drive My Car'. Well now they're being presented with the perfect opportunity to do just that as an Aston Martin once owned by the famous Beatle is due to go under the hammer. Sir Paul brought the blue DB5 saloon, which has a top speed of 150mph, brand new from the British firm's factory at a cost of GBP 3,800. Extra features he requested included special suspension, chrome wire wheels and even a record player. It is thought that Sir Paul sold the car on in 1970 and it has been owned by a string of collectors since. Now the fully restored vehicle is due to be auctioned on 21 September at Duxford Imperial War Museum in Cambridgeshire by auctioneers H&H. This Aston Martin is expected to fetch in the region of GBP 400,000. Full story: http://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/ctwr
