A man loves his lunch so much he scans every sandwich he eats.
Jon Chonko's Scanwiches ongoing photo project sees him placing his lunchtime snacks directly onto a scanner.
By cutting the sandwich in half, the picturial results are mouth-watering glimpses of his deli delights.
The Brooklyn-based designer says his project is "for education and delight".
Jon says he has scanned more than 200 sandwiches, published a book and shown his work at several New York galleries.
Some of his latest range from a selection of tea sandwiches with the crusts cut off, to a simple Bologna.
There is also tasty-looking a Maine Lobster Roll, various burgers and a Uruguayan Chivito.

A demonstrator combines two symbols of resistance against U.S. President Donald Trump's crackdown on Democratic-run cities: a frog costume and a sub sandwich, in Washington, U.S., on October 18, 2025. Protesters in Portland, Ore. have worn inflatable costumes, particularly frogs, in response to heavy-handed police tactics, and a DC man famously "assaulted" a police officer by throwing a sub sandwich at him. La chaine de restauration Mos Burger propose un coussin en forme de focaccia
Pictures must credit: Mos Burger Here’s a tasty way to get a good night’s sleep — on a mattress-like cushion shaped like a sausage and egg focaccia sandwich. It features cushions shaped like the sausage and egg in an offering from Japanese fast food chain Mos Burger. It can also be used as an armchair by propping up the back or it can be laid out flat as somewhere to stretch out on while watching TV. The whole thing is roughly 100 times the size of the real sandwich. The bed is called the Tsukimi Dekaccha, and is a play on the Japanese words for “focaccia” and the“dekai” which means “huge” The adult sized to lounger has a foldable focaccia cushion, soft-boiled egg cushion which can also be worn like a dress or long shirt, curved sausage cushion, barbecue sauce blanket, and shredded cabbage cushion. All are fiullef with bean bag-like beads. A Mos Burger spokesperson said: “We have created an extra-large cushion that allows you to experience the feeling of a soft, soft-boiled egg while feeling the unique texture of fluffy and chewy focaccia all over your body.” Just ten of the beds are being made and will be given away by lottery from customers who follow the official Mos Burger X account and repost the campaign post during the period. From compressed yeast to cream cheese and cornflakes: one man's search for the world's greatest sandwich - Barry Enderwick
Barry Enderwick has recreated more than 700 sandwich recipes from history, dating from 200BC to the present day. What has he learned - and crucially - which are the tastiest?
arry Enderwick's adventures in sandwiches began with a filling of chopped raw oysters. It was, he says, "so gross". Still, his epic sandwich exploration continued with gusto. Since December 2018, Enderwick - a one-man historical re-enaction society, armed with mayonnaise and old cookery books - has recreated recipes for his social media accounts, Sandwiches of History. What began as occasional posts on Instagram, and then TikTok, has now turned into a daily lunchtime creation for hundreds of thousands of followers. Its success has come as something of a surprise.
Barry Enderwick enjoys a "Pan Bagnat" sandwich he made in the kitchen of his home in San Jose, CA.
