The specific edition displayed at the AVIC stands, the Aviation Industry Corporation of China, is the Shenyang J 35A made for People's Liberation Army Air Force PLAAF, the air force variant of the J-35, a fifth-generation stealth, multirole fighter aircraft with advanced avionics developed by SAC, the Shenyang Aircraft Corporation. Featuring twin engines and stealth design optimized for low radar cross-section, the J-35A is designed for both air superiority and precision strike missions. A defence company has partnered with a space plane, both German, start-up to develop a drone which can launch missiles.
The unmanned airborne strike platform by POLARIS Raumflugzeuge would carry missiles by Diehl Defence.
Called the AirLAS concept, which stands for Airborne Launching and Attack System, it is designed to address current challenges in ground-based air defence.
The solution combines POLARIS’s flight-proven unmanned vehicle with Diehl’s IRIS-T missile to deliver a launch platform capable of operating from the air, on land, or even at sea.
The IRIS-T, is a highly manoeuvrable short-range missile typically deployed on fighter aircraft.
It is in service with many NATO countries.
