Supercar maker Ferrari has taken the wraps off its latest head-turning model — but it does not exist in the real world.??It was created to show what the brand’s future could look like – both in terms of design and technology.
Called the F76, it was created to celebrate the Italian firm’s third consecutive victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with its 499P race car.
But the F76, was created exclusively for the digital world in the form of an NFT which stands for non-fungible token.
An NFT is a digital asset that can’t be copied and as such they’ve become a source of investment for some though most have no monetary value.
Ferrari hasn’t said how much the F76 NFT is or if you can even trade it.
The F76 name pays tribute to the Prancing Horse’s first triumph in the legendary French Le Mans endurance race, achieved 76 years ago, in 1949.
It was designed for clients of the brand’s exclusive Hyperclub programme enabling people wanting to buy an NFT to personalise their vehicle as if it was real.
The digital car was created by the Ferrari Styling Centre and aims to prefigure the shapes of Ferraris of the future.
