NEWS - London: 'Steh-Rolltreppe in Holborn Tube
A "standing only" escalator experiment at Holborn Tube station got off to a rocky start today (Monday 18 April 2016) as hundreds of Londoners ignored advice and walked anyway. Commuters are being asked to stand on both the left and right hand sides of the long escalators at one of the busiest stations on London Underground network as part of a six month trial. Tests have shown the move reduces congestion by 30 per cent. A third upwards escalator is available for people who wish to walk up the steps. TfL has implemented a range of measures, including footprints on the escalator steps, in an effort to educate passengers. But this morning hundreds of Londoners appeared to be ignoring the advice, instead walking up the staircases as normal.

Tourists are flocking to a beach directly under the flight path of jumbo jets to feel the impressive force of their jet stream as they pass just 20 metres over head. The Boeing 747s blow sand into the faces of avid plane spotters who gather at cafes near Princess Juliana International Airport on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin. They sit waiting for the planes to approach before dashing to the road and beach to feel the 300-tonne aircrafts blast past at about 150 miles per hour. Many tourists duck as they realise just how close the deafening planes are passing above them. Planes are forced to pass just 20 metres above the beach as they come into land on the shortest runway in the world that 747s regularly use

PLANE STUPID!

They have to approach low to land as soon as possible and use the full length of the 1.3 mile runway at Princess Juliana International Airport on the Caribbean island of Saint Martin.

The amazing incident was captured on dashboard camera by an officer with Kentucky's Kenton County Police Department.
A police statement reported: "Over the weekend, Officer Pittaluga encountered a large deer while driving on Decoursey Pike through Visalia. The encounter was less than cordial and ended as abruptly as it began.
"We think this video is a pretty good training video on how to react when a four-legged furry friend attempts to abruptly cross your path. Officer Pittaluga applied his brakes and steered away from the deer in a controlled manner.
