THE CHRISTMAS TREE-STOREY HOUSE
An innovative Dorset father-of-three has gone one up on the Joneses this Christmas.
35-year-old Greig Howe came up with the idea of creating the illusion of a giant Christmas tree growing through both floors and the roof of their home in Bournemouth.
To do this, the Christmas cracker bought a 35ft fir tree at a cost of GBP 250, then sawed it into three sections with the help of a group of friends.
He then placed the parts one above the other in separate rooms before decorating it with 2,000 fairy lights.
Mr Howe said he came up with the novel idea after his 11-year-old son Harry complained about last year's 5ft tree being too small.
It came as a surprise to Harry when he came home from school one day to see the top of the tree apparently sprouting out of the roof.
He told the Daily Mail, "'I think it looks wicked. Last year we had a tree that was about the same size as me, so I asked Dad if he could get a bigger one this year.
'But I didn't think it would be this big. I came home and couldn't believe it when I saw it. I couldn't speak. I really thought the tree had gone through the roof.'
