A dog playing with a BUBBLE on the beach is one of the winners in this year's Kennel Club Dog Photographer of the Year competition. Puppies are pictured sunbathing, snuggling, sleeping and snuffling in these winning images, which were among an incredible 10,000 entries from more than 70 different countries in the annual contest, which is now in its thirteenth year. Other photos show dogs leaping through the sand, playing in the snow and climbing on cliff tops. The competition has 10 categories: Portrait, Man's Best Friend; Dogs At Play; Dogs At Work; Puppy, Oldies, and I Love Dogs Because - a category for those aged 12 to 17 -Young Pup Photographer - for entrants 11 and under - Assistance Dogs and Rescue Dogs.

Mek'ele Blind School in Ethiopia is home to around 100 children, whose companionship and passion for their education is inspiring to encounter.

Brown bear cub in Alaska sticking out his tongue at his sister while his sister is comforted by her mom.
Brother Bear Annoys His Sister: Don't Stick Your Tongue Out At Me
Wildlife photographer Greg Harvey captured a cheeky bear cub playfighting with his sister.
The 43-year-old photographer took the shots while he was in Alaska in 2011.
Greg, who lives in Alberta, Canada, says:"I could see the male tormenting the female every chance he got. While she held her own, she was rarely the aggressor and from time to time would get mad at her brother and would try to hide from him by cuddling up to her mom."
"When she had enough she tried to run away, but the little boy wasn't having any of that. He chased after her and bit her on the bum."
The brown bear cubs are only 15-months-old and eager to play with eachother; however the brother bear takes it a little far nipping his sister on the bum.
The self taught photographer says: "The funny thing about anthropomorphism is it can happen at any time. People often ask about the story behind the images. Truthfully, the stories of any interest are normally what happens behind the scenes in a strange country.
"A brown bear cub wets his lips or tastes the air, and it looks like he is sticking his tongue out at his sister because of her body language as she cuddles up to her mom.
"I enjoy anthropomorphic images and am over the moon when I am lucky enough to acquire these kinds of images."
The photographer explains that many of his wildlife photographer colleagues are in the field taking pictures up to 200 days per year.
"I have to find a way to compete with them with only 14 days on safari per year."

Kelsey Smith wasn't in the mood to be arrested if his mugshot is anything to go by.
The Florida-resident was arrested after being found allegedly smelling of alcohol and sitting in his running car at an intersection.
Smith, 29, refused to leave the vehicle for a sobriety test and fought back against deputies. It resulted in him being tasered twice and purposely banging his head against a police car and spitting blood on several of the police in attendance.
According to the police report the Deltona man also claimed he was infected, saying to police that he had AIDS and Hepatitis C and that he was contaminating the squad car.
Smith has been charged with DUI and resisting arrest. He was taken to the Volusia County Branch Jail for booking.
His mugshot shows him sticking his tongue out at the camera.

The thieves struck Jimmy Butler's farm in Blythburgh in the middle of the night - killing and stealing a number of animals.
Horrifically, they also left a number of pigs still alive but peppered with arrows.
Pork from the targeted farm is used by the kitchens at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle as well as top London restaurants such as the Ivy, the Savoy, Rhodes 24 and Hix Chop House.
In total six pregnant sows living in an outdoor ark at the farm were attacked, with three left with arrows sticking out of them.
The gang - Mr Butler believes there must have been at least three people in order to lift the 200 kilo dead pigs - struck under cover of darkness and used silent crossbows to avoid being heard.
Horrified Mr Butler found that two of the sows had been stolen and the other four left injured or so badly traumatised they may lose their litters.
He said: "The people who did this were worse than animals themselves. It was very distressing for my men who had to deal with wounded animals with crossbow bolts sticking out of them."
The 15-inch long steel-tipped arrows had to be carefully removed by a vet to avoid further injury.
But now there are concerns that the attack marks the start of a poaching campaign leading up to Christmas.
Mr Butler's farm - one of the first to use the healthier outdoor method of rearing pigs - has up to 2,000 sows and 20,000 piglets on it any one time.
The 66-year-old farmer added: "They weren't very clever poachers - they went for the breeding sows which all had litters - if it was pork for things like bacon they were after, there were smaller...

A moorhen chick photographed at the RSPCA Wildlife Hospital in West Hatch, Somerset, UK. Moorhen (Gallinula chloropus) chicks are black balls of fluff with long legs sticking out the bottom. The red bill of the parents can just be seen starting to come through. Much daintier and elegant I think than the Coot, the moorhen is a shy bird in the countryside, but can be quite bold on town lakes.

An adorable project shows the baby birds of Britain in the first days of their lives.
Wildlife photographer Gavin Parsons has worked closely with UK rescue centres to capture chicks bought in for care.
He has spent the last three years photographing some of the baby birds bought into Folly Wildlife Rescue in Sussex and the RSPCA Wildlife Rescue Centre West Hatch in Somerset.
Each year hundreds of hatchlings are bought to rescue centres either after their nests have been disturbed or when they have been mistakenly picked up by well-meaning members of the public after they have fledged.

Urgh, Too Pinchy! Otter Tackles Crab Lunch
Grabbing a crab lunch can be tricky when you are only blessed with small paws.
This California sea otter looked as if it had eaten something it didn't like as it tackled the pincers.
But the marine mammal knew exactly how to minimise the nasty nips from it's blue crab prey - it simply flipped the alive-and-kicking crustaceans onto their backs.
Photographer Michael Yang spotted the fascinating feeding display at Moss Landing in California on Saturday (12 Nov).
Michael explains: "The sea otter would disappear underwater for up to a minute at a time and come up with one or two crabs.
"It would bite off the legs and chew on the shell to get to the meat inside. The shell must have been hard because I was able to hear the crunching as the otter chewed.
"Unlike with mussels and clams, where sea otters typically use tools such as rocks to break open the shells to get to the meat inside, this sea otter was using only its paws and teeth with the crab.
"It would also rip the top shell of the crab off, using its paws to hold onto the crab's body and teeth to grab onto the top shell. Once this was done, it would have access to the meat inside the body.
"If the otter came up with two crabs, it would float on its back and place one of the crabs on its stomach while dining on the other crab. Since the crabs were still alive (I was able to see the legs of the crabs flailing), the otter would flip the crabs upside down so they would not be able to crawl away.
"Once, a crab was able to right himself and started to crawl back into the water. But just before it reached the edge of the otter's stomach towards freedom, the...

Urgh, Too Pinchy! Otter Tackles Crab Lunch
Grabbing a crab lunch can be tricky when you are only blessed with small paws.
This California sea otter looked as if it had eaten something it didn't like as it tackled the pincers.
But the marine mammal knew exactly how to minimise the nasty nips from it's blue crab prey - it simply flipped the alive-and-kicking crustaceans onto their backs.
Photographer Michael Yang spotted the fascinating feeding display at Moss Landing in California on Saturday (12 Nov).
Michael explains: "The sea otter would disappear underwater for up to a minute at a time and come up with one or two crabs.
"It would bite off the legs and chew on the shell to get to the meat inside. The shell must have been hard because I was able to hear the crunching as the otter chewed.
"Unlike with mussels and clams, where sea otters typically use tools such as rocks to break open the shells to get to the meat inside, this sea otter was using only its paws and teeth with the crab.
"It would also rip the top shell of the crab off, using its paws to hold onto the crab's body and teeth to grab onto the top shell. Once this was done, it would have access to the meat inside the body.
"If the otter came up with two crabs, it would float on its back and place one of the crabs on its stomach while dining on the other crab. Since the crabs were still alive (I was able to see the legs of the crabs flailing), the otter would flip the crabs upside down so they would not be able to crawl away.
"Once, a crab was able to right himself and started to crawl back into the water. But just before it reached the edge of the otter's stomach towards freedom, the otter scooped the crab back upside down and kept it from escaping."

Lopsided Waterbuck Feels A Bit Up And Down
Look who's bucking the trend.
An unusual twist in this waterbuck's horn made it look like it had been fitted with an extraordinary head set.
The animal's lop-sided appearance made him stick out like a sore thumb.
Unlike his pals, who had two straight horns, this waterbuck had one which had grown in a bizarre curl.
Amateur photographer Ingrid Bunse snapped this photograph while on safari in the Ongava Wilderness Reserve, Namibia.
The 49-year-old, from Cologne, Germany, has been visiting Africa for several years but admitted she had never seen a sight like it before.
She said: "When I spotted this animal I knew I had to get a picture because it was so unusual - I've never seen anything like it.
"I don't know what caused the horn to curl like this but it didn't seem to be too bothered by it."
Mrs Bunse, who works in a publishing house, added: "I think it is because something special and rare.
"Everybody can do the perfect lion shot if the animal is close and posing but this waterbuck is special, something I will probably only see once in a lifetime."

Students wear high school prom outfits made entirely from Duct Tape

TAPE ME TO THE BALL
High school students in America are really stuck on what to wear to prom - thanks to outfits made from DUCT tape.
Thousands of wacky undergraduates have fashioned gowns and suits from rolls of the tape usually used for minor DIY repairs.
And the results range from drop-dead dresses to multi-coloured monstrosities.
Teens get through dozens rolls of tape and put hundreds of hours of work in to complete their costumes.
But it is not just the love of the sticky stuff that has caused the use of the makeshift material.
Students send photos of their outfits to the Duct tape company, who offer prizes of up to $6,000 in scholarships for the most creative couple.
The competition has been running since 2001, with more than 5,500 students having participated. Entries are now open for the tenth anniversary contest.
And judging by these portraits some of the couple look really stuck on each other.

THE PURE, WHITE TIGER BORN WITHOUT STRIPES
A rare pure white Bengal Tiger is set to take the world by storm with her snowy coat and blue eyes.
Fareeda is the first white tiger to be born in Africa and, even more unusually, was born without the stripes typical to her kind.
Her parents Geena and Shiva are both white Bengal tigers and carry the gene for white colouring.
The playful cub was born on Christmas day along with brother Shahir and sister Sitarah, both of whom are marked with normal black tiger stripes.
Due to this keepers at Cango Wildlife Ranch, near Cape Town, thought that Fareeda might develop her distinctive stripes as she grew older.
Cango Ranch PR and Marketing Manager, Odette Claassen said:
"When she was born, Fareeda had noticeably pale colour. It did cause a stir of excitement among the staff.
"But we knew there was the possibility of the cub's very light black and ginger stripes darkening over time existed."
However, at odds of 100 to one, now that she is six months old it is clear that Fareeda is set to stay icy white forever.
The young cub was largely hand-reared by keepers at the ranch.
Her adoptive 'mum' was Lisha the Labrador who, over the years, has played foster mother to more than 30 'orphans'.
Fareeda was bred as part of a unique breeding program aimed at keeping the White Bengal species alive.
It is estimated that there are less than 20 tigers like Fareeda alive in the world today.
"Most white Bengal tigers are bred in the US from a single male captured in India in the 1950s, but Fareeda is the first to be born in Africa, which is very special," Claassen added.
"My hope is that one day Fareeda and her kind can return to their nativ...

An ever quirky Joss Stone performed in concert last night in aid of the fight against world hunger. Stone was performing as part of the Hard Rock Cafe's global 'Imagine There's No Hunger' campaign, which will benefit World Hunger Year (WHY), a non-profit organisation that strives to fight against hunger and poverty around the world. As part of the campaign Joss has also lent her vocal talents to a special compilation CD, Serve3, which aims to raise funds for the charity. Yoko Ono has donated John Lennon's song 'Give Peace A Chance' for the CD. It also contains rare, new or previously unreleased tracks from the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Avril Lavigne, Starsailor and My Morning Jacket.
