Incredible Edibles
A cake in the shape of a suckling pig and a life-sized woman made out of bread were just two of the weird and wonderful gastronomic delights on show at a new exhibition.
They were amongst dozens of dishes served up to eager visitors at the Experimental Food Society's latest 'spectacular'.
Also getting tastebuds tingling was a dress made out of macaroons, chocolate and jelly bean portraits, a scorpion made out of chilli peppers and other incredible edibles.
Alongside this the bonkers banquet included models smothered in chocolate, a jelly St Pauls, drinks in edible glasses and horses sculpted from margarine.
The bizarre offerings came from a host of culinary creatives who are members of the Experimental Food Society.
This society was formed in order to challenge the normal perception of food.
Members include jelly mongers, cake sculptors, sugarcraft artists, mobile chocolate adventurers and "one-of-a-kind dining conceptualists".
An annual showcase enables these gastromentalists to show off their wacky fare.
Their mouthwatering offerings form part of a day-long exhibition before a select few are able to eat the lot at a grand banquet finale.
