    St James Church, Piccadilly, well known to Londoners was set on fire by incendiary bombs dropped buring a recent night attack by German raiders. The Church was almost completely destroyed.

    Attacks over a widespread area of England were made by enemy aircraft and warnings were sounded in many districts, including the region of London. Anti aircraft guns and searchlights were in action.
    Some bombs were dropped and it is reported that three persons were killed and several injured.
    No casualties or damage was done in the London area.
