Artist on glass
Skilled backroom boy whose beautiful craftmanship will be admired by Festival of Britain visitors is Mr Percy Cartwright , pictured here executing one of his many intricate designs on a piece of glassware at the Stuart Crystal works at Wordsley , Staffordshire. After he has finished the design , the glass will go to the engravers. Mr Cartwright has been engaged in designing for nearly half a century , beginning in 1906 .
