Two headed cheetah cubs by Clint Ralph
LOOKING AHEAD AND BEHIND... Two cubs appear to merge into a double-headed cheetah. The pair of siblings were spotted creating the illusion in the Tiger Canyon Reserve, South Africa.

Clint Ralph, 61, said, "The shot took a lot of walking to achieve, with our party having to track the cubs for some time before they climbed up onto the rock for this unique shot, following a period of running about and play fighting together. I love the fact that it looks like a two-headed cub and it feels like such a special moment to have captured." (FOTO: DUKAS/SOLENT NEWS)

A photographer has captured a cheetah mother's plucky defense of her cubs.

Paul Goldstein was guiding for Exodus Travels last month when he spotted the stand-off when a leopard took an interest in the family.

The cheetah faced the threat head-on, and dramatically tried to wear the large female leopard out before it could attack.

A VIDEO also showed the incident: https://vimeo.com/190519183

Wimbledon-based Paul explains: "Recently, in the heart of Kenya's Mara North Conservancy, I saw something I can still scarcely believe."

Paul's annual charity presentation: 'Still Endangered' takes place on November 22nd at the Royal Institution in London.
