This image, taken by NASA's Landsat 7 satellite on July 6, 2000, details the start of a 22-year downward trend of Lake Mead's water levels, which now stand at their lowest since April 1937, when the reservoir was filled with water for the first time. As of July 18, 2022, Lake Mead was filled to just 27 percent of capacity. The largest reservoir in the United States supplies water to millions of people across seven states, tribal lands, and northern Mexico. It now also provides a stark illustration of climate change and a long-term drought that may be the worst in the U.S. West in 12 centuries.

Kim Jong-nam is reported to have been killed by two female assassins with others involved in a Cold-War-style hit with poison sprayed or smeared in his face. Kim Jong-nam had branded his brother's regime a "joke" and was allegedly poisoned while waiting for a flight and died on his way to hospital. Chilling footage showing the murder of Kim Jong-nam, the playboy half-brother of Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un on Monday morning, which has been posted on Youtube and is shown here in graphic detail in grabs from that video. The extraordinary video shows the moment female assassins sneak up on him with one coming at him from behind and spraying or smearing poison in his face with her hands. The female assassins then calmly walk off in opposite directions in a hit which is timed on the footage as taking only 2.33 seconds to carry out. The entire video begins by showing Kim Jong-nam entering the Malaysian airport and then looking up at a screen to look for details of his flight. In the next chilling scene, the two assassins come at him from different directions with the killer in the 'LOL' logo-emblazoned top approaching him from behind and putting her hands around his head to his face. He is sprayed or smeared with poison, possibly placed on gloves, during a brief struggle and both women then walk calmly away from him. Kim Jong-nam is then seen walking towards staff and security and explaining and displaying with visible hand movements what has just happened to him. He then appears to walk off unsteadily with security personal (shown here circled in red).
