Funeral of Zeta Jones, Catherine Zeta Jones' grandmother, Swansea, Wales, Britain - 21 Aug 2008
Catherine Zeta Jones has returned home to Wales for the funeral of her grandmother, Zeta Jones. Dressed all in black, the actress paid her respects to her 91-year-old namesake at a service at St Peter's Church in Cockett, Swansea. More than 150 mourners attended the service, including Catherine's parents. Her husband Michael Douglas didn't attend the ceremony and neither did the couple's two children, Dylan, eight, and five-year-old Carys. During the half-hour service the star read Daffodils by William Wordsworth, her grandmother's favourite poem. A wake at Morriston Golf Club took place after the ceremony and cremation. Catherine was said to be close to her grandmother and would make regular trips from her home in Bermuda to visit her in Swansea. Zeta - who was the mother of Catherine's businessman father, Dai - was said to have originally been named after a famous merchant ship, which carried copper from South America to Swansea docks.
