Symbolic Grand Ring at Expo 2025 Osaka
April 9, 2022, Osaka, Japan: The Grand Ring at Expo 2025 Osaka is a symbolic venue which encircles most of the site's pavilions. Recorded by Guinness World Records as the world's largest wooden structure, it's two kilometer (1.2 mi.) circumference and 20 meter (65 ft.) height is constructed from thousands of Japanese cedar and cypress trees. Designed by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto in the style of Japanese temples and shrines, it is intended to express the concept of "Unity in Diversity". Smiling future pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka
April 9, 2022, Osaka, Japan: This is the YOSHIMOTO Waraii Myraii (smiling future) pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka which consists of a smiling sphere approx. 20 m. in diameter'(65 ft.). This venue presented by Yoshimoto Kogyo Holdings is a plaza theater where various light hearted and comic performances are staged. It's intended concept is that of "expanding new possibilities of laughter for future society for life beyond sustainable development". Expo 2025 Osaka mascot Myaku-Myaku
April 9, 2022, Osaka, Japan: This is Myaku-Myaku, Expo 2025 Osaka's shape shifting mascot which is "a mysterious creature born from the fusion of cells and water, and who's true identity remains unknown". The red part represents cells which divide and multiply, the blue part represents pure water, which can flow and change shape. In it's present form, it is mimicking humans. It was conceptualized by Japanese illustrator Kohei Yamashita, selected from among 33,197 submissions. For this expo, over 160 countries including host Japan are exhibiting and an estimated 28 million visitors are expected to visit during it's six month run from Apr.13 to Oct. 13, 2025.
