Armed police have evacuated at least 1,000 workers on Tottenham Court Road after a suspected bomber stormed an office building and took hostages. The man is believed to be wearing gas canisters on his back and entered the office of an HGV firm inside Shropshire House. Iain Croll who works in the building next door said: "People came out of their building telling us there was a bomb and to evacuate. "Then the police arrived." Bystanders have now been pushed back to Euston Road, which is about half a mile from the scene.
