March 10, 2012, Lakeland, Florida, United States - Ethel Kennedy, widow of Robert F. Kennedy, along with her son, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and daughter, Mary Kerry Kennedy, join farmworkers and supporters in a procession from a Publix Super Market to the company's headquarters three miles away . The farmworkers are protesting the company's refusal to join the Fair Food Program of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, which seeks to improve wages and working conditions for tomato pickers. Following the march, an estimated 1,000 demonstrators gathered in front of the home office of Publix, where about 60 farmworkers and supporters ended a six day fast. Before his death, Robert F. Kennedy supported union leader Cesar Chavez in his struggle for justice for the farm worker. Mary Kerry Kennedy is President of the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights. Robert Francis "Bobby" Kennedy (November 20, 1925 - June 6, 1968), also called RFK, was the United States Attorney General from 1961 to 1964 and a U.S. Senator from New York from 1965 until his assassination in 1968. He was one of U.S. President John F. Kennedy's younger brothers, and also one of his most trusted advisors and worked closely with the president during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
