A scooter helmet that acts as a turning indicator and can summon help if there is an accident, has won a top design award.The Madillo is also designed to fit any shape head and be the perfect helmet for E-Scooter sharing or cycing in busy cities.Instead of a regular hard-hat shell it is made of auxetic material, or a material capable of stretching in a given direction and becoming thicker and stringer.This material and unusual pattern gives the Madillo the ability to comfortably take the shape of your head.It can withstand huge amounts of pressure when in a fixed state. A thin LED lighting module sits under the outer material, shining to indicate when the wearer is turning left or right and even braking.The Madillo also comes with a life-saving beacon too that lights the helmet up to attract the attention of passers-by. It even sends an SOS signal out to the nearest hospital if necessary while transmitting the user’s location.It was created by Lukas France a student at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin in Germany.

A scooter helmet that acts as a turning indicator and can summon help if there is an accident, has won a top design award.The Madillo is also designed to fit any shape head and be the perfect helmet for E-Scooter sharing or cycing in busy cities.Instead of a regular hard-hat shell it is made of auxetic material, or a material capable of stretching in a given direction and becoming thicker and stringer.This material and unusual pattern gives the Madillo the ability to comfortably take the shape of your head.It can withstand huge amounts of pressure when in a fixed state. A thin LED lighting module sits under the outer material, shining to indicate when the wearer is turning left or right and even braking.The Madillo also comes with a life-saving beacon too that lights the helmet up to attract the attention of passers-by. It even sends an SOS signal out to the nearest hospital if necessary while transmitting the user’s location.It was created by Lukas France a student at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin in Germany.
