KFC sort des bougies à l'odeur de poulet grillé
Picture MUST credit: Homesick Candles Some tasty candles have been released — giving fans of KFC the sweet scents of their favourite foods. One features the fragrance of freshly cooked chicken pieces in a bucket and other other the outlet’s bread roll biscuits And there is also a car air freshener that replicates the bucket scent. The luxury candles come in a box with the Col. Sanders KFC logo and red and white colours. They are made of soy wax and are said to have “premium cotton” wicks. The officially licensed candles have been created by US company Homesick and are due to go on sale the first week of December in time for Christmas gifting. Homesick describes the Bucket of Chicken version as “a blend of herbs and spices that excite the senses in a familiar way. “Perfectly fried chicken fuses with garlic for an addictive scent explosion. “Top notes: chicken, browned flour. Mid notes: Peppercorn, celery. Base notes: Oregano, sage, garlic.” The air freshener is the same smell blend. The Buttery Biscuit is “a baked flour and golden honey mix for the perfect complement to juicy fried chicken. “As butter drips and glistens, drool is activated. “ Picture supplied by JLPPA

Madame Tussauds Gives Prince Harry an Icy Make-Over as He Prepares for South Pole Charity Trek
Madame Tussauds has paid tribute to Prince Harry's participation in a charity trek to the South Pole by giving his wax figure an icy make-over.

Visitors will get a preview of what the 'action man' Prince will look like kitted out to combat the sub-zero temperatures he and fellow expedition members will encounter on the 208 mile Walking with the Wounded South Pole Allied Challenge, which kicks off on Sunday.

The wardrobe team at the London attraction will dress Prince Harry, who is the expedition's patron, in exactly the same gear the team will wear on their trek donated by Helly Hansen.

Madame Tussauds artists will use special colouring effects to 'ice' his eyelashes and hairline - mirroring how he will look in the face of -50C temperatures, snowstorms and glaciers over the four week challenge.

Guests will be invited to make donations to help kick start the fund raising campaign, which aims to generate GBP 2 million for the re-training of wounded ex-servicemen and women

    Tasty Treat For Hungry Squirrel
This squirrel couldn't believe its look when it discovered this tasty chocolate and marshmallow treat.

Clearly not watching its weight, the rodent was spotted gorging itself on a chocolate teacake as it perched high in the branches of a tree in Glasgow's Kelvingrove Park.

Indeed, the hungry critter was so eager to eat the unexpected snack, which it had discovered in a bin, that it got the creamy filling all over its face.

Keen to get every last morsel of goodness, the squirrel buried its head in the cake and even appeared to lick clean the silver and red foil it had been wrapped.

    Finger Food: Miniature Food Rings
Talk about finger food - an artist makes rings topped with realistic dishes.

Sofia Molnar creates amazing jewellery featuring treats ranging from ornate cupcakes to coffee and biscuits.

Her work also includes small scale Japanese meals, a sandwich lunch and a cookie jar.

The 41-year-old Canadian, now living in Japan, explains: "I love food! Who doesn't love food? I also like making things and I love jewellery and rings and so when I first saw these tiny little food replicas that only the Japanese could do so well, combining these two ideas just came to me one day.

"I think there's something inherently fascinating about everyday objects presented in a different scale whether it's bigger than normal, or in this case so much smaller.

"I start by looking at the pieces I have in front of me...the wood that I painted, the dishes, and the various pieces of food, and then I start putting them together to see what works. So, for example, if I'm making one of my ice cream or mousse rings, after filling the dish with the cream clay, I choose the candy or sweets that match both the dish and my mood at the time.

"Once the wood base has been painted and lacquered and the ring base attached after it has dried, it takes about 20 to 30 minutes to put all the other pieces together depending on the individual ring and how fiddly it is."

"They are made from a variety of items including hand painted wood, Japanese chiyogami paper, pottery shards, cream clay, buttons, vintage pieces and miniature plastic food pieces among other things."

Sofia sells her works with prices between GBP 8-12, depending on intricacy.

Dessert for Breakfast - Fry-up made from Sweet Ingredients
Amateur cook Vicky McDonald, 30, has re-created the Great British Breakfast from dessert items, one which would be best washed down with sweet wine rather than a builder's tea.

The fried egg is in actual fact panna cotta with lemon curd; dark chocolate biscuit cake gives the illusion of black pudding; the sausages are peanut butter coated sponge wrapped in caramelised rice paper; the hash browns are brioche and Vicky's personal favourite, the baked beans, are small biscuits coated in white chocolate with an orange and strawberry coulis.

The hardest bit for Vicky was the streaky bacon; this part of the breakfast really had her stumped.

She said: "I even thought about making a jelly pork belly and then cutting slices of bacon jelly from it. But it turned out the brandy snaps gave me the right crispy texture."

It took Dublin-based Vicky a few weeks and attempts to figure out the ultimate sweet breakfast (suitable for vegetarians) with some delicious disasters along the way.

"I originally wanted the hash browns to be crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy in the middle so I attempted to deep fry home-made marshmallows, which resulted in a spectacularly gooey mess.

"In the end I decided to use brioche as it's one of my favourite breakfast foods," explained Vicky.

Vicky's humble breakfast idea began with the fried egg.

"I often make panna cotta and serve it with lemon curd. The two together always remind me of a fried egg, so I started off making this and then experimented with the rest of the food items," she explained.

    Cape Province, South Africa
A WORLD OF DIVERSITY AND DIFFERENCE IN SOUTH AFRICA

From vast plains to rolling mountains and golden beaches to barren deserts, South Africa is a vast country of huge diversity.

And its bustling cities are just as varied as its landscapes - from the likes of hustling Johannesburg to the cosmopolitan Cape Town.

The country is renowned for its wines and is the world's largest producer of gold.

In 2010, it will also play host to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the first time the contest has been held on the African continent.

Cape Town is the second largest city in South Africa and is the capital of the Western Cape Province.

It is also the legislative capital of the country, being the location of parliament and other government buildings.

One of these is the old city hall, a large Edwardian building in the city centre that was built in 1905.

It was here, on 11 February, 1990, that Nelson Mandela made his first public speech just hours after being release from prison.

Cape Town is noted for its architectural heritage, with the highest density of Cape Dutch style buildings in the world.

One of its latest constructions is slightly different however - the main stadium that will host matches during the World Cup.

Known as the 'Mother City', the Cape Town metropolitan area covers a vast sprawl; however, the city centre or 'bowl' is relatively small.

It is nestled between Table Bay and the Table Mountain range, which provides a dramatic backdrop to the city.

The flat-topped Table Mountain, along with other famous peaks such as Lion's Head and Apostles Mountain, form part of the Table Mountain National Park.

This area is a significant tourist attraction, with many visitors using the cableway or hiking to the top of Table Mountain.

Its main feature is what gi...
