Crown Princess Victoria was sporting a brace over her leg and ankle which she sprained recently while skiing. The Tobias Foundation established the Tobias Prize in 2008. It consists of a personal prize of SEK 100,000 and a research grant of SEK 2 million per annum for five years. Its main aim is to give the laureate the means to carry out high-class research concerning problems of importance for cell therapy in hematological (blood-related) disorders.

A photographer has captured a picture of the mythical 'dog-bird'.
Megan Whiteley shot an image of what appeared to be a hound with wings as she strolled along Opotiki Beach in New Zealand.
But despite the fact Megan is a Biomedical Scientist the quirky snap is actually a trick of perspective.
The 22-year-old was photographing a friend's dog running along the beach when the unusual optical illusion occurred.
Megan, from Hamilton, explains: The dog is a friend's and is called Snoopy. He is obsessed with chasing seagulls and I managed to get this shot as I followed him, running with my zoom using sports mode."
The amazing image has already got an online following with over 730,000 views on the Imgur website.
Comments have included "More than a dog, more than a bird, it's a dogbird!", although one person wondered of the practicalities of the new species, commenting: "Now imagine a giant mound of dogpoop hitting your windshield and landing in your coffee."

These hilarious pictures illustrate perfectly why Atlantic puffins are called 'clowns of the sea'.
Wildlife photographer Megan Lorenz snapped this lovely sequence of images last month while visiting Newfoundland, Canada.
Her wonderful work also appears to show a seemingly romantic side to the seabirds - as they go about collecting colourful wildflowers for use as nesting material.
A highlight includes one bird parading around with a purple flower of which Megan says: "He walked around with the large purple flower in his beak and seemed very proud that he had such a prize to take back to his mate."
Another picture shows an inquisitive puffin tackling a hapless photographer's tiny camera.
Megan explains: "I just got back from a wonderful trip to Newfoundland, it was my third time but nature always holds surprises in store and I was able to witness behaviour I've never seen before.
"From June until the end of August the Atlantic puffins nest in their burrows on offshore seastacks which are inaccessible to visitors. The Puffins were very busy collecting nesting material and it was a pleasure to just sit and watch these comical birds.
"From past experience I know that the best chances of good photographs are to be patient and wait until some of the puffins land onshore. As I was sitting at the edge of a cliff, one puffin landed very close to me and started tearing up moss, picking grass and then the wild iris that grows in large numbers in Newfoundland.
"Puffins are also referred to as Sea Parrots and Clowns Of the Sea and their behaviour always makes me laugh - but this was the first time I've ever seen a romantic Puffin.
"I titled the image "Making Amends" ...

Gardens Go Vertical In Sydney
Imagine a building that grows, sprouts flowers and changes colour with the seasons.
Well thanks to its unusual 'vertical' gardens that exactly what happens at Central Park in Sydney, Australia.
The building is home to the world's tallest 'vertical garden' - a living tapestry of plants, flowers and vines stretching 150 meters high.
The eye-catching installation was designed by French botanist Patrick Blanc in collaboration with Paris architects Ateliers Jean Nouvel.
The two dozen green wall panels that cover the building, some as high as 16-storeys, have been planted with over 100,000 plants.
In addition residents on levels 29 to 33 of the complex's east tower have their own cantilevered Sky Garden that juts from the facade.
All of the plants and flowers in the vertical gardens are carefully maintained by a special hydroponic system, which automatically waters and fertilises.
