Picture MUST credit: Clone Robotics A creepy looking android based designed around a human-like skeletal frame, has been unveiled. The device, called Torso, a bimanual robot with artificial muscles and looks a little like the 3D printed robots made for sci-fi Tv series Westworld. It includes an actuated elbow, neck and anthropomorphic jointed shoulders. The muscles are operated by water pressure and a valve matrix for this fits compactly inside the ribcage. It has been created by Poland and US based robotics start-up Clone. The company says manipulation training for the android is “in progress.” Until then it has shown off the torso performing a humber of stretching and turning exercise to show off its human-like joints.
