CHINA-HUBEI-MOUNTAIN ROAD BUILDING (CN)
(110321) -- ENSHI, March 21, 2011 (Xinhua) -- People walk at the construction site of a mountain road in Jianshi County of central China's Hubei Province, March 19, 2011.
A total of 686 people from 180 families lived in the Dianziping Village of Longping Township, Jianshi County. The village is isolated by mountains and rivers, and only a dangerous pathway, which was used for salt trade in ancient times, connects the little village to the outside world. Villager's life and the economic development were hindered by the traffic.
In the year of 2004, Wang Guangguo, leader of the village, proposed to build a 2-kilometer-long mountain road connecting Dianziping Village to a nearby village Qingliba, because Qingliba has cement roads leading to the main expressway and railways. Not only people in Dianziping, but also villagers of nine other villages can benefit from the road. Approved by his villagers, Wang and villagers voluntarily put their spare time and energy into the project.
Now, after 6-year hard work, half of the mountain road has been finished, people here have also gained confidence and hope for their future life.

CHINA-HUBEI-MOUNTAIN ROAD BUILDING (CN)
(110321) -- ENSHI, March 21, 2011 (Xinhua) -- Zhong Guangxiang, a villager, shows a work log of the villagers participating in the construction of a mountain road in Jianshi County of central China's Hubei Province, March 19, 2011.
