Young Doctors On Nationwide Strike For Implementation Of Deal With Tunisian Government In Tunis
A young doctor holds a sign reading in French ''a wage of misery'' during a rally organized by the Tunisian Organisation of Young Doctors (OTJM) as part of a nationwide strike that brings together hundreds of young doctors near Tunisia's Parliament building in Tunis, Tunisia, on November 19, 2025. Young doctors demand the implementation of the agreement signed with the Health Ministry last July. The rally coincides with a parliamentary session debating the Ministry of Health's budget as part of the 2026 Finance Law. In July, the Tunisian Organisation of Young Doctors reaches an agreement with the Ministry of Health to secure better working conditions for young doctors, especially residents, ensure payment of long-overdue on-call allowances and salaries, an increase in allowances, as well as improvement of public healthcare. • REPORTAGE - Ukraine: Alltag im Donbass

REPORTAGE - Ukraine: Alltag im Donbass
Tatyana, 60 years old, is the mother of Lena, Svetlana's daughter-in-law. Her house was recently bombed and she has been trying to rebuild it ever since. But Tatyana lives in the last street before the trenches, she is placed after the last check-point of the Ukrainian army, at the beginning of the grey area. She remembers when all this started in 2014. 'That day, I had to go to the hospital, so I went to take the bus but I was told that Pervomaisk was busy, it was not possible. There were militias, it was scary. They weren't from our country. Ours came (the Ukrainian army) afterwards and they stayed here until today. The buses were no longer running, it was the bullets in the doors, the windows. But that's war... I'm not even saying there was anything damaged, except our psyche... And here it is, the 'joyful' life has begun... life in the basements... Before we could swim in the river but now it's contaminated. We use it to water vegetables.
With little or no running water and only at times, the villagers have no choice but to water the vegetable gardens, which are their main food source, with the water from the river polluted by flooded coal mines. Of the recent political announcements and Minsk agreements, Tatyanna, like most villagers, doesn't think much of them: 'Even our people don't know anything about what's going on here, they promised before the elections, but they weren't here... now we just exist. We don't know what to expect...every minute...we hope everything will be fine.

Climate change and river bank erosion in Bangladesh
Sept. 9, 2014 - Munshigonj, Bangladesh - Children of river bank erosion area at Padma river..Bangladesh is one of the most populated countries in the world having 32% coastal area that is 47,211 square kilometers, 35 million people live in the coastal area which is 28% of the total population. According to the specialist development activities of mankind, especially, the over exploitation and pollution of the water resource and biodiversity have increased the risks of the disasters as a result of climate changes such as river erosion. ....River Erosion is an endemic and recurrent natural hazard in Bangladesh. When rivers enter the mature stage (as in the case with the three mighty rivers, ganges, brahmaputra and meghna) they become sluggish and meander or braid. These oscillations cause massive river erosion. Every year, millions of people are affected by erosion that destroys standing crops, farmland and homestead land. It is estimated that about 5% of the total floodplain of Bangladesh is directly affected by river erosion. Some researchers have reported that river erosion is taking place in about 94 out of 489 upazilas of the country. A few other researchers have identified 56 upazilas with incidence of erosion. At present, river erosion and flood hazards in nearly 100 upazilas have become almost a regular feature. Of these, 35 are severely affected.....For last 15 days river erosion by the Padma River have caused extensive damages to human habitation and crop fields as well. For this lots of people have lost their own homeland who were situated at Dohar, Dhaka, Bangladesh (FOTO: DUKAS/ZUMA)
