Palm oil plantation, Kuta Makmur, North Aceh, Inodnesia - 21 Jan 2020
After two consecutive years of distress, in early 2020 the price of Crude Palm Oil or CPO has increased. The price of CPO contracts on the Malaysian exchange is at the level of RM2,943 or 723USD per ton. The price increase was due to political problems between Malaysia and India related to the issue of Kashmir. Although the price of palm oil has increased, yields from some farmers in Aceh province have declined due to the condition of palm oil fruit that failed to harvest.
