The area is situated in North Leeds, near to King Lane and the Leeds Outer Ring Road. The area is mainly made up of 1950s/60s housing as well as a proportion of modern housing. In the 1990s much of the area's Shopping Centre was rebuilt. It now has a large Sainsbury's, a Homebase, several other retailers
