Harry Potter Hogwarts built from 400,000 Lego pieces, Seattle, America - Mar 2013

That's Magic: Harry Potter Hogwarts Built from 400,000 Lego Pieces
A woman has built a scale model of Hogwarts from the Harry Potter films from 400,000 Lego pieces.
Alice Finch, 38, spent 12 months constructing the replica of the school from the films based on J.K. Rowling's books.
The Seattle teacher also has recreated scenes from the movie in various rooms throughout the model including meal time in the Great Hall and the transfiguration and potions classrooms.
Alice explains: "It is designed to be architecturally accurate and completely playable. It breaks into sections that pack into 40 large flat boxes or shelves."
She told brothers-brick.com: "There are about 10,000 bricks just in the big central staircase to give you a sense of scale. It is built in the shape of an L, where each side is about 13 feet (nearly 4 metres) long."
"It sounds odd to say 'Lego-related injuries' but it is possible," Ms Finch told News.com.au.
"At one point I over-stressed my knees by leaning over my work table for hours upon hours and I've worn off my fingerprints several times. When I was putting on thousands of cones on the roofs, I wore band aids on my fingers because they were so worn and sore."
The model won the People's Choice award and Best in Show at the Lego convention BrickCon 2012. Lego's official Hogwarts set only uses 1,290 bricks.
