Photographer Mikael Buck with assistance from renowned local Icelandic guide Einar Runar Sigurdsson, explored the frozen world of Vatnajökull glacier in Iceland using Sony's world first back-illuminated full-frame sensor, which features in the 7R II camera. His images were taken without use of a tripod or any image stitching techniques in photoshop. This was made possible through Sony's new sensor technology, allowing incredibly detailed low-light hand held photography. Previously images this detailed would have required carrying bulky equipment to the caves, some of which can require hiking and climbing over a glacier for up to two hours to to access. The images were taken without the use of any external sources - just the natural light that filters through the ice caves.

Perching Pooch: Dog Hilariously Balances On Random Objects
This collection of unusual photographs presents a dog with one mildly remarkable skill; she can stand on pretty much anything.

Atlanta-based photographer Theron Humphrey, 28, is embarking on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to visit all 50 states in the next year and has taken his well-poised dog, Maddie, along for the ride.

Documenting his trip through photoblog: 'Maddie On Things' it shows the two-year-old Redtick Coonhound standing on a horse, a bike and even up a ladder.

The blog, which is updated daily, has gone viral and made Maddie an internet sensation.

Theron said: "Maddie On Things is a light-hearted pause to daily life and simply for people to smile at. It is also a way for me to do something different with my photography as we travel around America.

"Maddie is always by my side when I photograph other people so I decided to make her the subject of my photography and pointed my camera at her for a change.

"Overtime it evolved into putting her on funny things because of her nature to stand really still."

Some people might perceive this project as cruel but Theron assures them that she is not in any danger and is always supervised.

"I have trained Maddie not to move until I come and pick her off whatever she happens to be standing on," explains Theron.

The duo have 20 states left to visit on their trip so Theron will be updating the blog for another 150 days.

You can follow Maddie's posing adventures on her Tumblr, Maddie The Coonhound, where prints of her past exploits are available for purchase.

Theron adopted Maddie in April 2011 from the Cobb County animal shelter in Atlanta.
