Zodiac Killer
Letter from the Zodiac Killers. The Zodiac Killer was a serial killer who operated in Northern California for ten months in the late 1960s. He coined his name in a series of taunting letters he sent to the press until 1974. His letters included four cryptograms, three of which have yet to be solved. The Zodiac murdered five known victims in Benicia, Vallejo, Lake Berryessa, and San Francisco between December 1968 and October 1969. Four men and three women between the ages of 16 and 29 were targeted. No connections between them have ever been discovered. They appear to have been victims of opportunity, nothing more. While it is often claimed that the Zodiac knew his victims, there has never been credible evidence to suggest this was true. Numerous others have been thought to be Zodiac victims, but the evidence is scant at best. The killer's identity remains unknown. (POLARIS) (FOTO:DUKAS/POLARIS) -

Jack Karlson, who shot to fame after 'succulent Chinese meal' arrest, dies aged 82
Karlson immortalised the phrase 'this is democracy manifest' in what has been described as Australia's pre-eminent meme.
Jack Karlson revisits China Sea restaurant in 2024 for the documentary 'The Man Who Ate A Succulent Chinese Meal', which is based on his life.
(Pictured, Jack Karlson with reporter Chris Reason). On the 11th of October 1991, Jack Karlson was apprehended by Queensland Police at a Chinese restaurant in Fortitude Valley. Following a Shakespearean response from Karlson during the arrest and subsequent coverage from Channel 7's Chris Reason (who, at the time, believed he was Queensland's most wanted criminal) - a legend was born.

Sir Terry Farrell
Sir Terry Farrell, architect and urban designer. 31/03/2023. Terry Farrell the man behind MI6 headquarters in London and TV-am's egg cups has long sought to repurpose buildings and connect with the public - goals now embodied in a new centre in his home town of Newcastle There have always been two sides to Terry Farrell. On the one hand he likes to stand up for the ordinary citizen, to back community groups and conservationists against arrogant planners and architects, to protect old buildings from demolition, to take it to the man. On the other, he himself designed big, imposing buildings for powerful institutions: the flesh-coloured ziggurat of the MI6 headquarters in Vauxhall in London, for example.
