Tens of thousands of supporters of main opposition party Law and Justice together with members of "Solidarity" trade union and listeners of catholic-conservative Radio Maryja station attended the "Wake Up Poland" demonstration in the centre of Warsaw. Participants of the rally protested against the government's policies and raising the retirement age as well as against the exclusion of the TV Trwam television station (which is a sister station to Radio Maryja) from the new Polish digital platform. Warsaw, 29.09.2012
The demonstration is seen as a success of the Rev. Tadeusz Rydzyk who was the main force behind the organistation of the march. The Rev. Tadeusz Rydzyk is one of the most influential and controversial clergymen in Poland. He is the founder and director of the ultra-Catholic Radio Maryja station and TV Trwam channel. Many of the right-wing politicians and trade union leaders endeavour after the support of the Rev. Rydzyk and his media empire.] (FOTO: DUKAS/ACTIONPRESS)

The Body of Polish President Lech Kaczynski Returns To Poland!
#4829842 The body of Polish President Lech Kaczynski, 60, was flown home to Poland on April 11, 2010 after a terrible plain crash took his life along with his wife Maria and 96 other people. The late Polish President was received by grieving family members and thousands of Poles who lined the streets from Warsaw's airport to the presidential palace. On Saturday Lech and his wife Maria boarded the Tupolev airplane which crashed during the landing due to the thick fog. Soldiers escorted the Presidents coffin to the middle of the central street of Warsaw where they held a brief ceremony in his honor. Kaczynski's twin brother, Jaroslaw and daughter, Marta paid their respects by kneeling on the ground in front of the flag-draped coffin. The funeral will be held at a later date. Sadly Lech?s wife?s body has not been identified.
