NPO The Thanda Inja Project Brings Veterinary Care To An Impoverished Township In South Africa.
January 27, 2026, Daveyton, South Africa: A female cat called Smokey being spayed as part of the Thanda Inja project work. Farm animals are also treated, on the odd occasion. The Thanda Inja (Love Dogs) project is an initiative by the welfare organisation called Pug Rescue and it brings veterinary care to an impoverished township in South Africa. They conduct biweekly visits to the community from their pop up vet service. Its a partnership with private and state vets to help curb the over population of dogs in the area by sterilising, treating sickness and they offer free basic vet care like immunisations etc. (Credit Image: © Neil McCartney/ZUMA Press Wire (FOTO: DUKAS/ZUMA)
