AFGHANISTAN: AFGHAN WAR JULY 2010
25 July 2010 - Kapisa Province, Afghanistan - U.S. Army Pfc. Robert Hardee, with Provincial Reconstruction Team Kapisa, pulls security atop a Military All-Terrain Vehicle just outside the Alasay District Center in Afghanistan. This mission marks the first time in three years that U.S. forces pushed into the Alasay district because of a heavy Taliban resistance in the area. The PRT routinely performs missions throughout Kapisa to interact and engage with local leaders. The PRT's mission is to stabilize the region by enabling local governments to care for, educate, employ and protect their people through the construction of basic infrastructure and mentorship. The U.S. Army convoy just ahead of the 782nd suffered one casualty from the IED blast and several wounded soldiers.
