August 25, 2018 - Berlin, Germany: Paul Spies, Chairman of the Board and Director of Stadtmuseum Berlin Chief Curator for the state of Berlin in the Humboldt Forum. In 1987, Spies co-founded the art-historical consultancy and organizational bureau D’ARTS, that produced museum concepts, exhibitions, publications, marketing and communication campaigns, television programs. In 2009 he was appointed director of the Amsterdam (Historical) Museum and started several partnerships with other heritage museums in Amsterdam. Since February 2016 Spies has been appointed director of the Stiftung Stadtmuseum Berlin, consisting of five museum locations and chief curator of the exhibitions of Berlin in the Humboldt-Forum, the Berlin Castle that is currently being rebuilt on the Museum Island, to be opened in 2019.
