A yacht design company has unveiled a new toy for owners – a retrofit glass-walled sphere for studying underwater life.Called the Hydrosphere, it lets people explore the ocean without ever leaving a vesselUK-based Gresham Yacht Design says the sphere drops down from a hatch in the hull.It is accessed by a circular stairway to a viewing area with room for seven. The Hydrosphere will offer views that would normally have needed a submersible to get.The advantage is that s does not need the preparation of a separate vessel for launch or a dedicated captain and crew. The Hydrosphere is equipped with special outside lighting to illuminate the undersea sights.

The ultimate superyacht has been unveiled – with TWO helipads, some of which is strictly for use of the owner. The aptly named, 120 metre-long Emir concept even has a so-called “heli-lobby” for guests to access after alighting from the chopper. And in anticipation of the owner being an oligarch or oil-rich sheik, there are fold-up bulwarks either side of the helipad. There are fold-up bulwarks either side of the helipad contained within the superstructure. These are said to ensure a smooth and reassured transition from the helicopter into Emir’s interior. And it also means the styling of the profile is not compromised while offering an owner the ability to directly access their private deck. The yacht, which has room for 36 guests and a crew of 40, has been created by British-based Gresham Yacht Design and does not compromise on luxury.
