COLOGNE, GERMANY - MARCH 23: Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki speaks to the media to announce further consequences following a report on Catholic clergy members who possibly obstructed investigations or failed to act on cases of sexual abuse by priests and other members of the Cologne Archdiocese, on March 23, 2021 in Cologne, Germany. The report, prepared by the law form Gercke and Wollschläger and commissioned by Woelki, accuses eight leading church members, including archbishops, vicar-generals and heads of personnel, of 75 breaches of duty related to suspected cases of sexual abuse by priests, deacons and others. Woelki, whom the report does not accuse of wrongdoing, has come under fire from critics for having delayed release of the report since last year.
