    The Rolling Stones 1962 -
Dec. 1, 1968 - London, England, U.K. - Rolling Stones frontman MICK JAGGER pictured recording 'The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus' TV Show. Little did the Rolling Stones know how apt their name - inspired by the title of a Muddy Waters song, 'Rollin' Stone' - would turn out to be. Formed in 1962, they are the longest-lived continuously active group in rock and roll history. (Credit Image: © KEYSTONE Pictures USA/ZUMAPRESS.com)

" Modern methods must always be used in the manufacture of foodstuffs " is the maxim of the 1958 British Food Fair, except it seems in the case of Christmas puddings, which should be 'traditional'. In an attempt to re-popularise the old fashioned 'plum pudding' of two centuries ago, the organisers of the Fair are sending out 200 of these puddings to members of the British press. These puddings are round in shape and cooked without a basin.
Photograph shows: Miss M Eggs of Barnes seen with an old fashioned 'plum pudding', with another one wrapped beside her, like those which are being distributed by organisers of the British Food Fair.

Between courses Grace keeps the Christmas pudding hot over a small tea light stove. She gently warms the brandy, too, before pouring it round. So that when Tony sets a match to it, the brandy lights in a trice and the pudding's encircled with a glowing, magical flame.
