Lawrence ,35, and Pattinson, 39, appear opposite each other in the movie Die My Love.
Speaking to late night US TV talk show host Jimmy Fallon, 50, Lawrence , the film’s producer, said it was her idea to cast the ex-Harry Potter star.
Fallon then referred to Lawrence’s role as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games series and Pattinson’s as vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies.
He said: “I saw the Internet's going crazy that Katniss and Edward are in a movie together !
“Yes, we want that!”
Fallon then started a little dance singing the names Katniss and Edward.
But Jennifer admitted: “I'm very nervous that people are gonna sprint to the theatre thinking it's like a Katniss and Edward fan flick— and it's not.
“It’s not. It’s a very idiosyncratic, poetic, work of art.
“But if you're expecting a fan flick, It’s not that. You're gonna be really disappointed.

Hunger Games actress Jennifer Lawrence hopes no one is expecting a movie mash-up when she stars opposite Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson in her new film.
Lawrence ,35, and Pattinson, 39, appear opposite each other in the movie Die My Love.
Speaking to late night US TV talk show host Jimmy Fallon, 50, Lawrence , the film’s producer, said it was her idea to cast the ex-Harry Potter star.
Fallon then referred to Lawrence’s role as Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Games series and Pattinson’s as vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight movies.
He said: “I saw the Internet's going crazy that Katniss and Edward are in a movie together !
“Yes, we want that!”
