Palestinians walk back to Gaza City
October 10, 2025 - Gaza: Palestinians make their way along Salah El-Deen road toward Gaza City from Nuseirat in the central Gaza Strip on October 10, 2025. Israeli forces declared a ceasefire and withdrew from some positions in Gaza on October 10, as thousands of displaced Palestinians began to trek home and the families of October 7 hostages awaited news. Israeli prime minister's office said that the government had "approved the framework" of a hostage release deal with Hamas, as both sides edged closer to ending more than two years of hostilities in Gaza. The main indicator of the Brazilian stock exchange, B3, is up on Wednesday (9), going from 93,000 points for the first time. The movement is influenced by the exterior, by the good performance of Vale and Petrobras shares and by signs of advancement in a pension reform proposal that contribute to the maintenance of investors' moods. The news from the outside influences positively, amid expectations that the United States and China announce some advance in the commercial negotiations. Investors also await the release of the minutes of the latest Federal Reserve monetary policy meeting scheduled for 5 pm for signs of the US central bank's next steps toward interest rates.

Despite the fast changes that are happening in Cuba, the population are still taking life very slowly.

Photographer Valerio Berdini has captured a series of images that show the slow, Cuban way of life.

Valerio said: "The headlines speak clear - change is imminent; expectations are high. What the analysis don't seem to touch on are the Cubans. There have been three generations of people that grew up and have been educated under Fidel Castro's socialism."

He added: "In Cuba time passes at a different pace, days do not have the rhythm of a western society. Workers are not taught the concepts of services, efficiency or excellence. Competition, the driving force of a capitalist society, is unknown in an economy where, for almost 60 years, people are used to earning their (meagre) salary regardless their productivity. There are few objectives and fewer rewards, the little money are spent in tiny undersupplied shops. People aren't seduced by adverts."

Photographer Captures Stunning South American Railways
A French photographer has captured remarkable images of scenic rail routes hidden in the depths of South America.

Jean Marc Frybourg, 56-years-old, main occupation is in the pharmaceutical industry.

However his passion for photography has always led him to spend time travelling the world, capturing his favourite rail ways.

Jean Marc, who lives in Paris, explains: "I started taking photos when I was a boy. I have always taken photographs. I have begun 'learning' photography and using serious cameras in 1972 when I was 11 or 12-years-old."

He says he began to take photographs of trains because he liked model roads.

"I wanted to travel and see the trains. Since then, I have always preferred taking pictures of trains."

Once the photographer felt he had mastered his technique, he started to expand his interests.

Jean-Marc explored a multitude of other styles of photography, including portraits, landscapes, nude shots, wild animals and many others.

"When I was about 20-years-old, I worked as a photography instructor/coach at a mountain hiking safari in the French Alps."

"I am also fascinated by planes, I am thinking about doing some photography of airports and / or airplanes."

He explains that his favourite rail routes to photograph include steam locomotive trains, particularly when they are in action.

The photographer even ventured to China and Mongolia to visit the biggest ...

The equivalent to a category-five hurricane, the storm came ashore in the southern province of Davao at dawn, uprooting trees and blowing off roofs.

Residents in flood-prone areas were moving into shelters, ABC reported.

On Monday, Philippine President Benigno Aquino warned the public to take storm warnings seriously. "The potential destruction of this typhoon is no joke," Aquino said in a national television and radio address.
