This stunning picture shows the last thing a tasty worm sees before being snapped up by a little owl.
Photographer Jamie Hall captured the rare view near his home in Woodbridge, Suffolk.
It took patience and technical know-how in order to snap the split-second moment in which the owl weighed up whether to swoop down for food.
Jamie spent two months observing the flying predator hunting in a 4m² patch of overgrown grass between old buildings.
He was sitting ten metres away when he managed to remotely fire off his Canon 1DX and 14mm f/2.8 lens to freeze the scene.
Jamie says: "This would be one of the last views the prey would have of an owl just before it dropped from the sky onto it."
