This WILL make you hungry!
A man loves his lunch so much he scans every sandwich he eats.
Jon Chonko's Scanwiches ongoing photo project sees him placing his lunchtime snacks directly onto a scanner.
By cutting the sandwich in half, the picturial results are mouth-watering glimpses of his deli delights.
The Brooklyn-based designer says his project is "for education and delight".
Jon says he has scanned more than 200 sandwiches, published a book and shown his work at several New York galleries.
Some of his latest range from a selection of tea sandwiches with the crusts cut off, to a simple Bologna.
There is also tasty-looking a Maine Lobster Roll, various burgers and a Uruguayan Chivito.

Scientists Develop 3D Gel Smooth Food For Elderly
Scientists have developed 3D super-smooth jellified foods that look just like our everyday meals.
Scientists at Biozoon, based in Germany, use molecular gastronomy to create food that can be "printed" using a standard extruder-based printer.
Smoothfood was developed by top chefs Markus Biedermann and Herbert Thill on the basis of modern texturisers manufactured by Biozoon.
It is a concept for cultivated eating in old age or for persons with swallowing difficulties or other illnesses which make normal eating impossible.
Over 60% of elderly patients suffer from dysphagia, meaning that they struggle to swallow and digest food.
People can develop dysphagia as a result of old age, the aftermath of a stroke, suffering cancer or from several other illnesses.
Smoothfood uses raw, steamed, fresh or frozen foods which are chopped, mixed, pureed, pureed or whipped into a foam texture and then shaped so that people with chewing or swallowing difficulties can enjoy their meals.
Mathias Kueck, founder of Biozoon and co-ordinator of the EU's Performance, said: "The look and taste of the end product matches the original food item. But the texture is soft and gel-like. It dissolves easily in the mouth so that it is safe to eat for people with mastication or swallowing problems."
The technique deconstructs common foods such as chicken, carrots and fruits into a smooth form that can be eaten without chewing and then reconstructed to give the appearance of a conventional meal.
"The aim is above all to show chefs and family carers that fresh food which fulfils the requirements of the individual patient can be prepared quickly, easily and with minimum effort. Smoothfood comprises four main food forms," said Biozoon.
For example, if preparing a continental break...

Baby orangutan celebrates 1st birthday at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, Devon, Britain - 12 Apr 2014

Mali Muscles In On Daughter's Birthday Treats
It may have been her daughter's birthday not her own, but that didn't stop mother orangutan Mali from enjoying herself.
Keepers at Paignton Zoo laid on a special birthday 'cake' and some tasty treats to celebrate baby Tatau turning one.
However, it would appear that mum Mali thought the celebration was all for her as she cheerfully ripped the gift to pieces to reach the goodies inside.
But she can be forgiven for keeping the majority for herself as little Tatau still isn't fully weaned.
Though this doesn't stop the youngster from taking an interest in solid food and she was spotted happily sucking on a tomato.
Tatu was born on 11th April 2013 to mother Mali and father Demo.
According to Director of Operations and Curator of Mammals Neil Bemment the young ape is doing well and hitting all of her developmental milestones.

Jack the dog balances items on head, San Francisco, California, America - 25 Apr 2013

Jack The Balancing Dog
Who's a good boy!
Jack the dog is the most level-headed dog you'll see - he balances household items on his head.
The three-year-old quite happily poses for pictures for owners Nicole Lee and boyfriend Trey, who adopted him as a puppy.
And the Australian cattle dog is happy to impress by balancing items including a football, books, a kettle, and an egg - all in return for the cheers and praise of his San Franciscan owners.
Nicole, 27, a biologist, explains: "He is an Australian cattle dog and is probably mixed with something, but we don't know. From an early age we noticed he was very smart, so we taught him many tricks, this being one of them. He learned how to play fetch when he was 8 weeks old!
"The balancing act started when we tried balancing a kernel of popcorn on his nose one night while watching a movie at home. We quickly learned he was patient enough to allow us to stack really anything on his head (as long as it's not too heavy).
"We train him by positively reinforcing good behaviours and ignoring the "wrong" ones; basically just a lot of cheering around here. He responds really well to praise, so we use that as a reward, as well as the ball.
"We've had to continue to teach him more challenging tricks as we go along...most recently we taught him to shut all the kitchen cabinets and open the refrigerator. He's a fun guy!"

Gardener Grows Hitler Tomato
A gardener has grown a cherry tomato which looks like Hitler.
Heinz Zielke, 77, picked the tomato, which appears to have two eyes, a moustache and a quiff, from the vine in his potting shed.
The tiny red tomato was in his last crop of the season.
"I picked a number of tomatoes and put them on the kitchen window sill to ripen," said Heinz, a former motor mechanic who moved to Britain from Germany in 1964.
"When I moved them to the fridge I noticed the tomato seemed to have two eyes and a mouth.
"I thought it looked like an alien with a big head. People have since said it looks like Hitler, but I'm not so sure."
Heinz, from Cambridge, who has been growing tomatoes for many years, said it had been a particularly bad year for the fruit because of the dry spring.
Three years ago he cultivated a huge beef tomato weighing in at 500 grams, 17.5 ounces.
"I won't eat the tomato, I'll let it rot," he added.

A green tomato hit with a pellet while water is pured onto it
Impressive Shots: Alan Sailer's High Speed Photography
What an impressive shot!
Alan Sailer creates amazing images of everyday items being hit by projectiles.
Using high-speed photography, he can capture in stunning detail the moment items such as marbles and pellets pass through objects.
The jaw-dropping results include a pellet shredding three cigarettes, a marble destroying an ice cream cone and the shooting of stacks of staples.
Other targeted highlights include cans of drink, ice lollies, a cherry pie and a tub of cream cheese.
Based in Camarillo, California, the 56-year-old is a microwave engineer by day, but pursues his hobby in his garage in the evening.
Getting the shots is all in the timing. Alan opens the shutter on his camera on a one second exposure with one hand, while firing the rifle or air cannon with the other. A powerful flash is triggered when the projectile passes through a laser beam.
His set-up allows him the option to not only fire pellets and marbles at 500ft per second, but items such as Christmas ornaments filled with coloured gelatine.
Alan began his hobby after building his own 20,000 volt microsecond flash in 2008. He was encouraged when an image he took of a pellet being split by a razor blade caused a stir online.
"I was very surprised at the reaction to the razor blade splitting the pellet shot. It has had over 270,000 views and made me a little famous. The shot scared me, I didn't know if pieces of razor blade would come flying out."
Contrary to the destructive nature of his work, Alan isn't a fan of firearms.
He explains: "Bye the bye, I don't like guns as some people seem to think from the photos. It just that the only way to get great high speed photos is to photograph something going at high...

CHINA-BEIJING-VEGETABLE OVERSUPPLY-RELIEVE SELLING DIFFICULTY (CN)
(110427) -- BEIJING, April 27, 2011 (Xinhua) -- Residents select tomatos allegedly transported from central China's Henan Province and east China's Shandong Province at a supermarket in Beijing, capital of China, April 27, 2011. Recently, some farmers suffered a lot from the over-supply of vegetables and had to throw away those unsalable. The Ministry of Commerce has taken several measures to help farmers tackle difficulties in selling vegetables. Enterprises which are responsible for the farmer-supermarket direct selling chain were demanded to purchase more over-supply vegetables, set up a special section for such vegetables, and try to maintain the purchase price at a proper level.
