Mufasa the mountain lion having his chains cut off
Lion returned to forest after a life in the circus, Lima, Peru - 20 Nov 2015
    FULL BODY: http://www.rexfeatures.com/nanolink/rkn8

Mufasa the mountain lion has spent the last 20 years chained in the back of a pick up truck of a travelling circus.

Moving between remote Peruvian villages, Mufasa went undetected despite the country's ban on wild animals in circuses. However the mountain lion, believed to be the last wild animal in a South American circus, was rescued in a dramatic raid earlier this year.

Sandwich Loaf: A sandwich loaf is a stacked party entrée that looks like a cake. To create a sandwich loaf, bread is cut horizontally and spread with layers of filling
Scanwiches: scans of sandwiches for education and delight, New York, America - Nov 2015

    This WILL make you hungry!

A man loves his lunch so much he scans every sandwich he eats.

Jon Chonko's Scanwiches ongoing photo project sees him placing his lunchtime snacks directly onto a scanner.

By cutting the sandwich in half, the picturial results are mouth-watering glimpses of his deli delights.

The Brooklyn-based designer says his project is "for education and delight".

Jon says he has scanned more than 200 sandwiches, published a book and shown his work at several New York galleries.

Some of his latest range from a selection of tea sandwiches with the crusts cut off, to a simple Bologna.

There is also tasty-looking a Maine Lobster Roll, various burgers and a Uruguayan Chivito.

Photographers Bruno Metra and Laurence Jeanson have created a portrait series of people who appear to have had cosmetic surgery.

However, the models' nips and tucks are actually cut-outs from magazines.

Poking fun at the fashion industry the French artists stick images of facial features, cut out from fashion magazines, over the models' eyes, lips and noses to form new facial expressions.

The surreal project entitled ID is experimenting with visual perception and demonstrating that beauty is no longer natural, but socially conditioned.

HAVE THEY OR HAVEN'T THEY? - PLASTIC FANTASTIC

Have they or haven't they? That's the age old question when it comes to celebs and plastic surgery.

Fame can often be a young person's game so it's little surprise that some stars decide that the act of growing old gracefully needs a little help.

A nip here and a tuck there to give nature a helping hand is practically de rigueur when you live your life on a cinema screen or in the glare of a paparazzo's camera.

These stars have all prompted speculation due to their changing faces - from nipped in nostrils and plumped up pouts, to ironed out wrinkles and crow's feet corrections.

Some go for the subtle look, leaving it unclear whether their fresh new look is the work of a scalpel or simply 'healthy living'.

Such coyness means that snaps of stars such as Goldie Hawn, Madonna, Meg Ryan and Posh Spice are regularly speculated over.

Whether the rest of these stars have or haven't gone under the knife? It's between them and their surgeon.

One thing is for sure though - these celebs are now all looking suspiciously plastic fantastic.

But can you really expect any different when it comes to the knifestyles of the rich and famous?

Protests Over Trump's 25 Percent Tariff On India
August 1, 2025, Kolkata, West Bengal, India: Supporters of India's main opposition Congress party burnt of a effigy of US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during protest against the Donald Trump's administration imposed a 25% tariff on all Indian goods, in Kolkata, India, on August 1, 2025. Donald Trump's administration is imposing a 25% tariff on all Indian goods starting August 7, 2025, without any product exemptions, unlike other nations. This move, perceived as exceptionally tough, aims to pressure India on geopolitical issues and trade deals, says GTRI. The tariffs are expected to significantly reduce India's exports, particularly in petroleum, pharmaceuticals, and electronics, potentially decreasing overall exports by 30% (Credit Image: © Rupak De Chowdhuri/ZUMA Press Wire (FOTO: DUKAS/ZUMA)
