Picture MUST credit: Virgin Atlantic
A sweatshirt made famous by the late British royal Princess Diana for her daily gym workouts is being reissued to raise money for charity.
Dian was often photographed in the blue top promoting British airline Virgin Atlantic.
It featured a red swimsuited girl flying through the air holding a UK Union flag and trailing the Virgin logo.
It also sported the words, “Fly Atlantic.”
The new limited edition version will see £10 GBP / €11.50 euros from each one sold go to the airline’s charity partner Save the Children.
The businessman Sir Richard Branson owned company said the partnership will keep “Diana’s lifelong advocacy for young people in flight.”
The first drop of 250 of the £59 GBP/€68 euros unisex garment in adult and child sizes, has sold out but the airline teased : “There may be more to come.”
A spokesman said of Diana’s use of it in her wardrobe: “She wore it with cycling shorts and a carefree stride.
“We’ve brought that era-defining ease back. Same iconic Fly Atlantic artwork, same effortlessly cool attitude, now with a feel-good twist.
“It’s a faithful re-creation of the sweatshirt made famous by off-duty Diana, designed to be thrown on and taken everywhere — from the school run to the skies.”
They described it as “soft, comfy, and made to last.”
