The new glass floor over one of Yorkshire's most spectacular natural sights has opened to the public at How Stean Gorge, Lofthouse, North Yorkshire
New glass aperture at How Stean Gorge, Lofthouse, North Yorkshire, UK - 09 Nov 2017
How Stean Gorge is a unique limestone gorge in the Yorkshire Dales, carved over thousands of years. The steep sided chasm over half a mile in length and up to 80 feet deep in places, is already a popular outdoor attraction for abseiling, gorge scrambling and exploring caves. The new glass floors will allow visitors to see the gorge as never before. Open to visitors for over 100 years, How Stean Gorge is managed by owners Stan and Ann Beer. Stan Beer said: 'Since we took over the attraction in 2007, we've been working on innovative ideas to help put this special area on the map. We've transformed it from a simple gorge walk to a fully interactive adventure, with highly qualified instructors, and added a 52 seat restaurant serving local produce.'

(1/17/2017) Tis Isat or Blue Nile waterfalls, Bahar Dar, Ethiopia, Africa. Tis Isat, the Blue Nile Falls. In the huge and beautiful lake Tana, there is the birth of the Blue Nile, that great branch that pours its waters back by Sudan in the White Nile, the great Nile that crosses all Egypt and is going to die to the Mediterranean. The great Nile that was inhabited by huge crocodiles, and furrowed by pharaohs and priests worshiping the sun god, Ra, and all the pantheon that stretched under their wings.
