£1,500 - £2,000
Man Of The World: The Peter Green Collection runs from 16-28 June on bonhams.com.
As a founding member of the seminal rock band Fleetwood Mac – and the genius behind the hits Albatross, Black Magic Woman, and Man of the World – Peter Green (1946-2020) is still widely regarded as one of the greatest guitarists and songwriters of all time. Despite leaving Fleetwood Mac in 1970, Green’s pioneering talents gained him a legion of faithful fans, including the likes of fellow legendary guitarists Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Kirk Hammett, David Gilmour and Noel Gallagher. Over his lifetime Green amassed a large range of more than 150 guitars, as well as amps, pedals and other equipment. This impressive collection of individual items will be offered from his Estate for the first time. Together with his treasured guitars the sale comprises several important handwritten lyrics and some of his psychedelic sketches in a dedicated online-only sale, Man Of The World: The Peter Green Collection, running from 16 - 28 June on bonhams.com.

16th June 2023.
Alexander Fleming’s discovery of penicillin in 1928 was a revolutionary step in the treatment of bacterial infection. Its widespread practical application was not, however, immediately realisable. It took the work of Howard Florey and Ernst Chain in the late 1930s and early 1940s to isolate and concentrate the element in penicillin that kills the bacteria; and make it into an effective and manufacturable drug. All three men were awarded the 1945 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Sir Ernst Chain’s Nobel Prize medal is to be sold at Bonhams Fine Books and Manuscripts sale in London on Wednesday 21 June 2023. It is estimated at £300,000-500,000.
