Commonwealth Baton Relay launch, Commonwealth Day, Buckinghan Palace, London, UK - 13 Mar 2017
The Queen's Message was brought onto the dais and Her Majesty was invited to place it into the Baton which is then automatically sealed. The Queen then presents the Baton to Anna Meares, OAM, the most decorated female track cyclist of all time, then starts the Baton Relay by running to the Centre Gate before passing it to cyclist Victoria Pendleton, CBE, who runs it around the Queen Victoria Memorial (QVM).
