Alkmaar , Holland : When he visited the famous cheese market in Makmaar , near Amsterdam , the Lord Mayor of Birmingham couldn't resist the temptation of swapping hats with one of the cheesemakers , who wore a traditional straw sombrero style trilby! And the cheese-maker found it quite a good exchange - he enjoyed wearing the Lord Mayor's hat! The Lord Mayor was visiting the town for the opening of the " British Week " which will be held in seven different towns in Holland.
