The tanker terminal under construction 3/4 mile from land for the new old field discovered off Das Island in the Arabian Gulf by Abu Dhabi Marine Areas Ltd. The self jacking barge 'Hubinsel' being used in a new technique developed by George Wimpey and Co. Limited whereby steel cylinders are drilled into the sea bed to form mooring dolphins and berthing dolphins. To be completed this year the terminal will in the first stage handle 1.5 million tons of oil a year. The company which has a 12000 sq mile concession is owned by British Petroleum Co Ltd, and by the Compagnie Francaise des Petroles.

With the completion of a tanker terminal 3/4 mile from the island this year, also built by the Wimpey Organisation, it is expected in the first stage to ship some 1.5 million tons of oil a year.
The concession covers 12000 sq miles of sea and the company is owned by British Petroleum Co Ltd and by the Compagnie Francaise des Petroles.
