August 6, 2012 - Venice, Italy: Architect Rodrigo Basilicati, the nephew and creative heir of Italian-born French fashion designer Pierre Cardin, stands with one of his designs. Basilicati is collaborating with his uncle to design and build a modern skyscraper, named the Palais Lumiere, in Porto Marghera, near Venice. The proposed building is 244-meters, 60 stories and will cost nearly $2 billion. Cardin and Basilicati have high hopes for their design, and 90-year-old Cardin hopes to begin construction in September.
