Sculptor Rob Hewlett is pictured working on the wax figure sculpt of George Lazenby, as Madame Tussauds London announces it will bring together all six Bonds for the first time in October. For the very first time, Madame Tassauds will bring together all six James Bonds in wax form. Five new Bonds will join the existing figure of Daniel Craig this October, the same month of the latest Bond film, Spectre.

Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan and Craig will be at the legendary London attraction for a limited time before they are taken on a worldwide tour.

Guests are invited to see how they measure up to each 007 and pose with their favourite.

The Madame Tassauds sculpting team already had the measurements of Craig, Connery, Moore, Dalton and Brosnan from previous exhibitions, but the award winning team had to acquire George Lazenby's to complete the set. George Lazenby was happy to oblige and gave the team a sitting in February in Los Angeles.

Silk production - from worm to catwalk, southern India - 2010
SILK PRODUCTION - FROM WORM TO CATWALK

For many silk - the Queen of all fabrics - spells luxury, elegance, class and comfort.

But for hundreds of thousands of people in India it is something much more mundane but infinitely important - a vital life line.

An estimated 700,000 people are involved in various sericulture (silk production) activities in India.

Half of all the silk produced in India comes from the region of Karnataka where a sub-tropical climate allows for year-round production.

In 2007-08 India exported more than GBP 400 million of raw silk, carpets and ready made garments.

In 2007 alone it produced 18,320 metric tonnes of raw silk, making it the second a largest silk producer in the world.

It is second only behind China, which produced 108,420 metric tonnes of raw silk in the same period.

While the difference is vast, India's contribution is even more impressive considering that much of its production is done using outdated tools or by hand.

Ultimately, however, poor technology and high production costs undermine the vital role played by sericulture in improving India's rural economy.

    The Worm

The Silkworm Seed Production Centre in Mysore is run by Professor N.M. Biram Saheb.

He explains that the Indian government pioneered the provision of disease free lays of eggs as a way of improving yields without increasing start-up costs

The practice means that farmers are provided with a steady stream of healthy silkworm eggs.

It is deep in the seed production centre where the 'work' of creating these eggs takes place - in darkened rooms where moths are laid out on newspaper in racks of plastic trays.

Powerhouses of the silk industry they may be, but in reality they are pale weaklings whose only purpose is to mat...

Tragic Marilyn's Final Possessions Up for Sale
TRAGIC MARILYN'S FINAL POSSESSIONS UP FOR SALE

A rare sale of Marilyn Monroe's personal possessions will feature a robe purported to be the last item of clothing she wore.

The assembled items include clothing from her personal and professional wardrobe and furniture from her Brentwood, California hacienda style home.

The items offer a rare glimpse into the personal life of the tragic legend who resided in the Brentwood home until her death.

Among over 150 items offered for sale is a white terry cloth robe ($8,000 - 10,000) claimed to be the last item of clothing Monroe wore before her death.

This is also an umbrella Monroe held for an iconic photograph taken by Andre de Dienes in 1949 at Tobey Beach.

Other highlights from Marilyn's Brentwood home include; an orange Pucci blouse ($7,000-9,000), Monroe's dining room table (est. $10,000/12,000), living room coffee table (est. $8,000/10,000), Mexican tile table (est. $500/1,000), set of four living room folding benches (est. $5,000/7,000), Mexican framed mirror (est. $3,000/5,000), and other fine & decorative art pieces.

After Marilyn's death in 1962, her home at 12305 Fifth Helena, Brentwood, CA was purchased via auction by Dr. Gilbert Nunez. On August 5, 1962, Betty Nunez went to the realtor's office to register to view the property. By March of 1963, the Nunez's had thought Marilyn Monroe they had ownership, but a half dozen other realtors had also sold the house and the estate was still in probate.

A judge decided that the price of the house would be 10% over the price of the highest bidder. The Nunez's won but they ended up paying 5 times what the house was worth. They moved in during the month of September in 1963 and were given the opportunity to purchase any o...

A baby giraffe who has been featured on GMTV has now been joined by a playmate. The arrival of two Rothschild giraffe calves is being hailed as a unique success for the breeding programme at the park in Bedfordshire, never before in the Park's history have two calves been born within a single month. Dr Jake Veasey at the park said 'It is a great boost to the Park's breeding programme and also to the survival of a critically endangered sub-species of giraffe.' The first male giraffe calf was discovered by staff early on Monday 25th September morning, already up and about and suckling from first time mother, Hannah. He soon became a media star, featuring on GMTV at the tender age of 4 days old, when viewers chose a name for him '' Goliath'. Savannah gave birth to the second male calf on the 20th October. He is as yet unnamed, but his name will begin with the letter ''G' like all the animals born this year.
