REPORTAGE - Alltag in Kuba
Cuban cigars on display in a shop window.
Those cigars are rolled from tobacco leaves found throughout the country of Cuba. The filler, binder, and wrapper may come from different portions of the island. All cigar production in Cuba is controlled by the Cuban government, and each brand may be rolled in several different factories in Cuba.
Cuba produces both handmade and machine-made cigars. All boxes and labels are marked Hecho en Cuba (Spanish for made in Cuba). Machine-bunched cigars finished by hand add Hecho a mano, while fully handmade cigars say Totalmente a mano in script text, though not all Cuban cigars will include this statement. Because of the perceived status of Cuban cigars, counterfeits are somewhat commonplace.
Despite American trade sanctions against Cuban products, cigars remain one of the country's leading exports. Since the United States has removed import limits on Cuban tobacco and alcohol, all travelers can bring home an unlimited supply of the rhum and cigars.

May 6, 2016 - Bad Ischel, Austria: Pedestrians wear traditional attire as they look at shop windows as Austria’s political crisis looms. Austria's Chancellor Werner Faymann abruptly resigned and last month’s presidential election added to the pressure. In the upcoming second round of voting on May 22 the right wing Freedom Party’s Norbert Hofer will face off against the Green Party candidate, Alexander Van der Bellen. The Salzkammergut area in Austria stretches from the City of Salzburg eastwards along the Austrian Alpine Foreland to the peaks of the Dachstein Mountains. The name Salzkammergut literally means "Estate of the Salt Chamber" and derives from the Imperial Salt Chamber, the authority charged with running the precious salt mines of the Habsburg Monarchy. St Valentines Day .
St . Valentine's Day is with us all once more . Secret loves will find expression in flowery , colourful but anonymous cards . Bunches of flowers will be delivered to many pretty miss's home - with mysterious cards attached . Others , more bold will willingly sign their names , proud and sure of their reception . Still others ( the very brave ) will arrive , flowers in hand , at the sweet - heart's door .
Such a brave one is Johnny - or as he is more familiarly known in his neighbourhood '' The Beau Brummell of the Buildings " . Not for him the hidden love , the unspoken affection , the unrequited passion . He has always kept pretty Rosie in his sights . ( Not that his eye doesn't wander , and the '' one man one girl '' path is a difficult route ) . But comes St . Valentine's and like the good , true suitor he is he makes straight for Rosie , Erring slightly on the way .- but nevertheless he reaches his objective , with flowers firmly grasped in one grubby hand .
Picture shows - Flowers purchased and on the way to see his valentine but not not before a quick glimpse of the pretty mannequin in a shop window .

OXFORD IN THE AIR WAR - EVACUEES TAKE PLACE OF STUDENTS IN UNIVERSITY CITY
Oxford, once quiet and sedate seat of learning, has taken on an unfamiliar aspect since the intensification of the air war, for it is now a city of refuge for many thousands of mothers and children from the bombed areas of London. Though some of the colleges of the University have been closed and many of the undergraduates are in the Forces, there are few vacant rooms to be found in the town. The houses where students formerly lived are occupied by evacuees. The pavements of the main street are crammed as never before with pedestrians, restaurants and eating houses are packed with customers at all times of the day, and the cinemas are gratified by the eager patronage of exiled Londoners.
Despite the changed face of the town, however, the past is still represented by undergraduates from the colleges which have remained open as they stroll or cycle through the streets.
Photo Shows: Customers flocking into one of the chain restaurants of J Lyons and Company in Oxford.
