NEWS - Albuquerque: Eine Person angeschossen und schwer verwundet, als Demonstranten versuchten, eine Statue des spanischen Eroberers Juan de Onate zu stürzen
June 15, 2020, Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA: EXCLUSIVE Image from Video: One person was shot and seriously wounded in Albuquerque, N.M., as protesters sought to topple a statue of Spanish conquistador Juan de Onate. The protest, held near the city's Tiguex Park, called for the removal of the statue that stands outside the Albuquerque Museum. The shooting occurred at what started as a peaceful protest in Tiguex Park Monday night where a group of around 300 had gathered to call for the removal of the "La Jornada" sculpture in front of the Albuquerque Museum. Baca was chased by several protesters and hit with a long board before falling to the ground. Shortly thereafter Baca is seen in the video shooting several rounds from a semi-automatic handgun, hitting Scott Williams in the torso. Protesters at the event immediately rendered aide to Williams and he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he is said to be in critical condition but expected to survive. A civilian armed-militia group known as the New Mexico Civil Guard attended the protest Monday also in an attempt to "protect" the statues. But the group took to Facebook to clarify that Baca was not a member of their group. (Credit Image: © ABQ via ZUMA Wire) (FOTO: DUKAS/ZUMA)

I hurt a little girl,' Vail recalls Oliva saying on Dec. 27, 1996, only a few days after the child died on December 25. 'To me, Gary's call that night was a full confession,' he added.
